The maintenance staff will work under the direct supervision of the Head Pool Operator from the Public Works Department and the Recreation Superintendent. Maintenance is responsible for the daily upkeep of the facility. The responsibilities of maintenance include, but are not limited to, mowing of grass, trimming in and around the facility, vacuuming pool bottom, emptying trash, watering grass and plants, cleaning dressing rooms, testing, and recording pool chemicals.

General

Duties
  • Mow grass and trim in and around the facility
  • Weed shrub beds
  • Empty trash receptacles
  • Vacuum bottom of pool
  • Clean dressing areas, including showers and restrooms
  • Change screens in pump house
  • Test and record pool chemicals
  • Check sand play area and volleyball courts; rake if necessary
  • Pick litter (facility, perimeter and parking lot)
  • Inspect All Children's Playground equipment weekly. Complete checklist
  • Empty trash receptacles in All Children's Playground
  • Other duties as assigned by Facility Manager
Qualifications
  • Preferred:
    Pool maintenance experience, but not required
Knowledge And Skills
  • Thorough knowledge and skill in the use of lawn mower, pool vacuum, and weed eater
  • Ability to accept, understand and follow written and verbal instruction
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to perform facility and grounds maintenance tasks
Employment Details
  • This job is for approximately 16 weeks, 30 hours per week, Monday - Friday 5am - 11am
  • May 30 - August 30 (Approximately)
Benefits

Part time employees working over 1,560 per year are eligible for health and dental insurance at 50% of the premium. They are eligible for hours of accumulation for sick leave and vacation pay based on total hours worked in the previous calendar year. Also eligible for Wisconsin Retire­ment System (WRS) if expected to work over 1,200 hours in 12 consecutive months.
