Job OverviewWe are seeking a dependable and safety‑focused Commercial Fence Installer to join our growing team at the QTS Data Center project in Cedar Rapids. This role involves installing high‑security and commercial‑grade fencing systems on one of the largest construction projects in the region. Candidates with prior fencing or construction experience are preferred, but we are willing to train motivated individuals who are eager to learn a trade and grow long‑term.
Key Responsibilities- Install commercial and high‑security fencing systems, including chain link, Stalwart anti‑ram barriers, and Clear Vu fencing systems using jigs
- Perform accurate layout, measurements, and alignment for fence placement
- Mix, pour, and finish concrete for fence posts and foundations
- Operate construction equipment such as skid steers, augers, and trenchers
- Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and project specifications
- Follow all site‑specific safety requirements and company procedures
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized worksite
- Assist with material handling, loading/unloading, and general site preparation
Physical Requirements
- Proficiency with hand and power tools
- Ability to stand and work 12+ hours per day
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs
- Comfortable performing physically demanding outdoor work in varying conditions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to jobsite safety
- Previous experience in commercial fencing, construction, general labor, carpentry, or assembly
- Basic concrete or foundation work experience
- Familiarity with tape measurement and layout work
This is a Contract position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
