• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic equipment as applicable.
• Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
• Replaces defective components as instructed and works unsupervised on most tasks.
• Performs facility maintenance duties and interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of the issue.
• Utilizes Shop Management System and electronic documentation; adheres to all safety, DOT, MOT compliance guidelines.
• Acts as a mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels and demonstrates access to internal and external maintenance documents.
• Other support duties as required to support operations, including Service Island support.
• SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT
  220) and completion of OEM On-Line diagnostic software courses as required by location.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational/Technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work).
• Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems, required.
• Three or more years of relevant work experience preferred.
• CDL Class A preferred; other location-specific certifications as required by location.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy- and medium-duty equipment.
• Proficiency with computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire; pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and background/motor vehicle check for last 3 years.

• Hourly pay: $32.00 per hour
• Certification bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification obtained (up to $700)
• Quarterly bonus: up to $500 per quarter
• Schedule:
  
  Monday–Friday; weekends off
• Second shift: 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm
