Vegetation Forester/Arborist Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Assigns work for individual crew members for carry out work according to accepted line clearance practices.
- Must be capable of adjusting to field requirements to take independent action without close supervision.
- Follows safe work practices and enforces safe work practices with crew members.
- Maintains accurate records, timesheets and reports. Periodically furnishes reports on incidents and private property damage.
- Controls crew costs, including effective use of manpower, work methods, operation of equipment, etc.
- Keeps informed on new equipment, specifications, standard practices, operating procedures, and customer and company employee relations/policies and practices.
- In emergency situations, determines action to be taken to eliminate hazards to life and safety.
- Assist in investigating and recommending future ROW maintenance requirements
- Inspect and assess customer requests for tree pruning or removals.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Able to:
- work and retain access to all ITC assets, including but not limited to substations, ROW’s, facilities, vehicles and equipment.
- safely drive an approved company vehicle.
- enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day.
- operate and service all required tools and equipment.
- Must have transportation to and from the show up location.
- Willing to travel out of state for emergency storm work.
- Must be willing to join the local union & pay union dues.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
- Valid driver's license required.
- ISA Certification is preferred.
- RARE
