Veterinary Extern - Equine role at NVA Equine. An externship at an NVA Equine hospital provides students with practical experience in an independent equine practice and insight into the daily operations of an equine hospital.
Responsibilities- Work alongside veterinarians and interns to gain experience with lameness diagnosis and treatment, and with client communication.
- Gain experience in reproductive care, surgery, emergency medicine, imaging, ambulatory, dentistry and preventive medicine.
- Assist with outpatient and hospitalized cases during business hours and after-hours emergencies as needed.
- Externships are available for current veterinary students regardless of class year, though preference may be given to fourth-year students.
- Veterinary students in their clinical year may be eligible for a travel/living expense stipend; contact for more information.
