Overview
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides comprehensive primary care services in a community health center, working under the Medical Director's supervision.
Qualifications- current Iowa NP licensure
- board certification in family or primary care
- at least two years' experience with underserved populations
- preferably bilingual English/Spanish
- conduct health assessments
- manage acute and chronic conditions
- promote preventive care
- counsel
- perform minor procedures
- collaborate with healthcare team members
- supervise staff
- participate in protocol development
- provide after-hours coverage
- complete documentation
- engage in continuing education and quality improvement initiatives
Physical requirements involve adequate vision, hearing, mobility, and the ability to lift patients, with a work environment that is typically low to moderate noise and potential exposure to health hazards.
