Job Summary
We are seeking an Interim Plant Manager for a 3-4 month staff augmentation engagement in North East, Iowa. Our client, a leader in composite manufacturing, requires an operational expert to step in immediately and run a facility of approximately 120 people.
This is a critical turnaround and growth project
. The plant is currently producing $5.5M per month with a mandate to scale to $6.5M. You will be responsible for stabilizing operations, improving delivery metrics, and driving a cultural shift in employee engagement.
Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Job Type: Contract
Salary: $90 - $100 per hour
Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Experience: 10+ Years
Responsibilities- Drive Plant Turnaround:
Direct all facility operations with a focus on improving production results and on‑time delivery. - Operational Rhythm:
Lead daily stand‑ups and production scheduling to set a consistent tone for the staff. - Change Management:
Act as a catalyst for improvement, utilizing effective communication to support organizational change and increase employee engagement. - Asset Management:
Oversee a facility characterized by heavy capital expenditures, including heavy equipment and materials.
- Specific Industry Expertise:
Must understand composite manufacturing, chemical composite, or plastics—including processes involving fabric, resin injection, and industrial ovens. - Proven Turnaround Background:
Documented history of plant turnaround and successfully scaling production output. - 10+ Years
Experience:
Production scheduling, daily stand‑up leadership, heavy capital‑expenditure management, and change management. - Leadership:
Experience managing a headcount of at least 120 employees. - Availability:
Ability to start ASAP and commit to a 3-4 month on‑site engagement in North East, Iowa.
