Maintenance Planner – Cedar Rapids, IA

Job Summary
  • Plan and coordinate manpower, parts, materials and equipment to improve workforce productivity, safety and quality.
  • Liaise between Production and Maintenance departments for planning purposes.
  • Maintain records and files using Maximo and other computer systems for meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance information.
  • Describe tasks, estimate required man‑hours, and communicate plans with all levels of the organization.
Essential Job Functions
  • Strong commitment to safety in all maintenance efforts.
  • Plan preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks independently and collaboratively.
  • Schedule predictive and preventative maintenance repairs.
  • Enter and manage equipment and repair data.
  • Communicate effectively in speech, writing, email and other mediums.
  • Plan priorities and manage resources efficiently.
  • Maintain equipment information and repair files.
  • Track and report key planned maintenance metrics.
  • Manage assigned mechanical contract work and assist in its supervision and control.
  • Request parts and materials for work orders not stocked in storerooms.
  • Adhere to standard work processes and develop integration standards.
  • Support the team on nights, weekends, holidays and on‑call duties.
  • Review work plans with site managers/supervisors/leads and maintain communication for planned maintenance.
  • Create detailed job plans and weekly maintenance work schedules (outage, planned works, resource requirements).
  • Evaluate JSA requirements and develop them as needed.
  • Maintain clear communication with departments/requestors to determine scope and priority of work.
  • Manage and understand the maintenance backlog.
  • Facilitate maintenance‑oriented meetings and pre/post project reviews.
  • Understand facility work rules and equipment.
  • Liaise between ADM and third‑party vendors.
  • Interpret maintenance manuals and learn Maintenance programs (Maximo, Coupa).
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Preferred experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems and planning software.
  • Minimum 1 year of maintenance/reliability planning & scheduling experience in a GMP/FDA‑regulated area.
  • Proficiency with computer software tools (email, spreadsheets, word processing, databases).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Push/pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Full range of motion to move throughout the facility, climb stairs, work at heights.
  • Walk 1–3 hours.
  • Sit 5–8 hours.
  • Occasionally squat/kneel and climb stairs/ladders.
  • Constant computer/keyboarding work.
  • Prolonged standing, bending, stooping, walking, reaching routine.

Compensation

Pay range: $58,100 – $108,000

This is an at‑will position, and the company reserves the right to adjust base pay as needed.
