• Leading and ensuring Design for Manufacturability & Assembly during the proposal and product definition phase of design. This includes following the Design To Cost Standard work, Design to Cost trade studies, working with design to optimize cost, providing feedback to design engineers with respect to cost.
• Leading producibility reviews prior to release of parts to production, utilizing DFMPro for producibility reviews, reviewing drawings, following design for manufacturing and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) reviews.
• Conduction cost assessments on parts with software called aPriori.
• Supporting Part Cost reduction projects on products in production.
• Potential travel, however will be minimal.

• Product knowledge of the components designed and assembled in Collins Cedar Rapids.
• How to run a software called aPriori for costing mechanical components. Internal software for costing digital controls/circuit card assemblies.
• GD&T training.
• DFMPro producibility software to analyze producibility concerns.
• How to interact with Integrated Product Development Teams.

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) experience.
• Mechanical Engineering experience.
• Manufacturing Engineering experience.
