We are seeking a Data Center Commissioning Technician to support data center operations through hands-on testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting of automated cooling and waterflow systems.
Location: Onsite – Cedar Rapids, IA
Compensation: $35–$45/hr (based on experience)
Hours: 40 hours/week
Position OverviewWe are seeking a Data Center Commissioning Technician to support data center operations through hands-on testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting of automated cooling and waterflow systems. This role is highly technical and requires strong experience working with analog valves, PSI testing, TSI equipment, and water‑based cooling infrastructure commonly used in modern data centers.
The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, familiarity with industrial waterflow systems, and the ability to run IO tests and assess service errors across all system points. This position also involves coordinating with specialized running crews to ensure accurate testing and system performance.
Key Responsibilities- Perform IO (Input/Output) testing across critical systems within the data center environment.
- Inspect, test, and verify the operation of analog valves
, including opening/closing performance and responsiveness. - Work with water‑based cooling systems
, ensuring proper waterflow, pressure levels, and system integrity. - Conduct PSI testing and monitor pressure behavior across pipeline and equipment connections.
- Utilize TSI meters/sensors and related instrumentation to validate system performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve service errors along all operational points in the system.
- Document test results, errors, and maintenance activities with high attention to detail.
- Collaborate with specialized running crews to support system commissioning or recalibration efforts.
- Ensure compliance with all site safety procedures and operational standards.
- Hands-on experience with waterflow systems, analog valves, and PSI/pressure testing in an industrial or data center setting.
- Familiarity with TSI instrumentation or similar testing tools.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, cooling processes, or building automation systems
. - Ability to troubleshoot, identify root causes, and resolve mechanical and system issues.
- Comfortable working onsite in a high‑availability data center environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
