Overview
We are looking for a driven self‑starter who enjoys working with people and creatively solving problems. Must be motivated to learn at a fast pace, work autonomously, and within a team environment. This Manufacturing Electrical Engineer will join the Manufacturing Support team at the Collins Aerospace Cedar Rapids facility, supporting manufacturing test and related functions. The role requires investigation, attention to detail, root‑cause analysis, customer service, and relationship building, with familiarity in LEAN principles and processes.
WhatYou Will Do
- Provide technical interpretation of drawings and specifications for complex products.
- Eliminate/reduce test defects and improve test yields through root‑cause analysis and corrective action.
- Apply standard engineering and manufacturing principles and processes extensively.
- Develop solutions to difficult technical problems of broad scope with limited project‑manager guidance.
- Implement and maintain test methods and processes for sub‑assembly, module, and top‑level products, especially new or difficult lines.
- Provide in‑depth technical assistance and training support to floor test technicians.
- Maintain test documentation in current configuration and oversee accurate change‑management procedures for all test documents, resolving conflicts in documentation and process definition.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of test systems and hardware.
- Recommend and/or lead producibility projects to reduce support costs.
- Analyze test data using statistical process control techniques to proactively reduce test flow inhibitors.
- Identify cost‑reduction opportunities in test approach, plans, and processes.
- Degree in a STEM field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field.
- Manufacturing, troubleshooting, or test experience required.
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis.
- Experience with Lean/Sigma principles.
- Experience with SAP, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Salary$68,900 – $131,100 USD (based on experience).
