The Collins Aerospace Avionics Test Engineering organization leads multidisciplinary teams (systems, mechanical, electrical, and software) to design, develop, and maintain manufacturing test solutions. The Senior Project Engineer ensures successful execution of test solution projects from inception through deployment and long-term support, including testing of electrical hardware, COTS components, and software for Environmental Stress Screening and testing of circuit card assemblies and top-level products.

The role reports to the Avionics Test Engineering leadership team and interacts with engineers and leaders across locations globally to drive project success.

What you will do
  • Lead project technical execution and maintain performance metrics for decision making and continuous improvement purposes
  • Manage project scope (requirements and change requests) to meet commitments
  • Generate and maintain project schedules with understood dependencies, deliveries, and critical path
  • Utilize Earned Value (EV) methods for managing project budget and schedule
  • Ensure project meets quality expectations
  • Identify risks and opportunities and resolve them through proactive ownership
  • Prepare well-crafted presentations reporting project status to leadership teams
  • Develop engineering estimates and proposals for potential projects and gain organizational buy-in
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency with developing and maintaining schedules using Microsoft Project
  • Experience establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships

This position may be eligible for relocation. The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including role, experience, location, and key skills.
