The Activities Director provides administrative direction and oversight for all athletics staff, programs, facilities. The director is responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, state, divisional and athletics regulations, administering departmental funds and accounts in a fiscally responsible manner and sustaining a culture of sportsmanship, professionalism and respect at all levels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Assist in leading the school learning organization by creating a climate and culture conducive to continuous improvement of student achievement and social, emotional, and behavioral development.
- Establishes and fosters positive school/community relationships, and clearly communicates core values.
- Takes responsibility and leadership for school Pep Assemblies and Student Activities Celebrations.
- Incorporates ethical principles in all decision-making processes, and treats all members of the school community with fairness, equity, dignity and respect.
- Effectively communicates, uses consensus building and conflict resolution techniques, and problem solving skills.
- Establishes and conveys high expectations for him/her, all employees, students, and colleagues.
- Positively impacts the performance of building employees through effective mentoring, supervision, and evaluation.
- Participates in instructional decision-making, and ensures the differentiation of instructional strategies, materials, and content to engage all students in learning.
- Prepares and supervises the preparation of reports, records, tests, and all other paperwork required or appropriate to the schools' administration.
- Prepares, submits and implements ethically, accurately, and efficiently the school budget and accounts.
- Works with appropriate district personnel in the effective and efficient operation of the school plant, transportation, and accounting functions.
- Recruit, interview, recommend for hire, highly qualified coaches, faculty and staff; and works with appropriate district administrators in the selection and assignment of building personnel.
- Maintains a safe learning and working environment, and responds to emergencies according to protocol.
- Counsels students who display academic and behavioral difficulties, and addresses the needs of a diverse student and school community.
- Manages student co-curricular and social activities.
- Maintains current knowledge of developments and best practices in 9th - 12th grade education.
- Provides leadership in supporting groups such as Booster Club, school-business partnerships, community agencies, etc.
- Performs duties to implement all aspects of a successful co-curricular program.
- Administers eligibility requirements for competitive activities.
- Supervises the preparation and dissemination of publicity about student activities.
- Coordinates the scheduling of school facilities, including evening and weekend use.
- Makes necessary arrangements for educational field trips and interscholastic activity travel.
- Coordinates programming and provides assistance to the activities directors of feeder middle schools.
- Mentor, supervise, and evaluate secondary activities personnel and their programs.
- Organizes and manages details in an orderly and thorough manner.
- Ability to take initiative and inspire others.
- Participates in all Activities Council, State Association, MVC and CRANDIC organizational meetings.
- Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis including evenings and weekends as required by the district.
- Provides active communication and positive relationships with all stakeholders including students, parents, staff, administrators, and community members.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficiency in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and related communication skills, including proofreading, editing, and creating original documents.
- Ability to work independently without supervision and as a team member.
- Ability to work under pressure with frequent interruptions, problem solve independently and with others, and take initiative.
- Must be comfortable with the operation of technical and electrical systems (including, but not limited to, scoreboards, sound systems, web-based software systems) required to host athletic and fine art events. This would involve a comfort level in troubleshooting situations before or during events.

- Ability to organize, prioritize, and assume responsibility.
- Capable of representing the District in a professional manner, which includes but is not limited to confidentiality, collegiality, and the ability to obtain and utilize additional training, if necessary.
