Position OverviewThe CDF Freedom Schools® program is a direct service initiative coordinated nationally by the Children’s Defense Fund in partnership with Tanager. The program serves students at Roosevelt Creative Corridor Business Academy. (formerly Roosevelt Middle School) The activity based Integrated Reading Curriculum, which is aligned to the Common Core State Standards, integrates reading, conflict resolution and social action, and is designed to promote social, cultural, and historical awareness.
This position will also offer the opportunity to express your creative side through leading an enrichment program to include art, music, nature, and other personal interests. Each CDF Freedom Schools Servant Leader Intern serves as the teacher for a maximum of ten students. The dates for this seasonal position are June 1st - July 31st. Candidates must be available to travel to Knoxville, TN for a paid training trip from June 2nd - June 7th.
