Job Description

Description: 6-12 Behavior Technician

Calendar: 189 Days

FTE: 8 hours per day

Position Category:

Hourly Salary: $21.78

Principal Duties
  • Under direction of professional staff, work with students individually or in group settings
  • Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) for students with challenging behaviors, including modeling and coaching building level staff who work with the student
  • Works collaboratively with the building engagement specialist to communicate with families about student progress and ways to support their student both in school and the community
  • Maintain data and progress notes for students with behavioral needs
  • May include working one-to-one with student to complete assigned tasks
  • Collaborate with teachers to provide academic support to the students
  • Provide Social Skills instruction to students
  • Collaborate with community service providers
  • Other duties as assigned

The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk more than the average person while performing the duties of this job. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds 0 to 12 feet and occasionally up to 20 feet, such as curriculum materials, desks, chairs, and boxes. The employee will sometimes push/pull items such as tables and carts.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus while supervising students and working with computers, written materials, reports, assessment data, etc.
