SUMMARY
Oversees all sites of Kids on Course University's 7 week summer program focused on the needs of students enrolled with IEPs. This position will also oversee behavior technicians. The role requires a track record of helping students with barriers in learning and behavior, identifying learning and behavioral needs, and developing and coaching plans for staff at the sites to implement. Provides professional development to staff and communicates with all stakeholders.
Works closely with Site Leaders and Program Director to ensure access and equity for all students. This position requires about 20 hours of planning work in April and May;
June will require 20 hours of planning and implementing professional development.
Eligibility for summer programming employment is limited to teachers who are currently employed by the district and confirmed to return for the upcoming academic year.

- Program:
June 15 – July 31 (no classes on June 19, July 3, and July
6) - Mandatory Training:
June 11–12 (8:00–12:00) - Student hours: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- Special Education Lead Teacher hours: 7:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Essential duties must be performed on site. Other duties may be assigned.
- Oversee one site of Kids on Course University's 7-week summer program, functioning similarly to a school-year principal.
- Track record of moving students with barriers (IEP, ELL, FR lunch) forward. Coordinate student transportation with CRCSD busing department.
- Assist in selecting site staff, including classroom teachers, librarian, health secretary, and enrichment leader.
- Coordinate daily behavior plans and provide positive interventions in collaboration with the site leader and teachers.
- Communicate with Ameri Corps workers and provide feedback to the director.
- Oversee IEPs of attending students and communicate needs to the site leader.
- Provide support to paraprofessionals assigned to individual students needing additional support.
- Foster a culture of equity with a growth mindset and high expectations for all students.
- Work closely with the Program Director to ensure daily activities maximize student learning.
- Lead an innovative summer learning program aimed at serving children who need academic support in the Cedar Rapids School District.
- Maintain active communication and positive relationships with parents and community members.
- Collaborate with the principal, teaching staff, parents, and students on academic achievement goals.
- Ability to communicate well both orally and in writing; ability to organize and manage details; maintain appropriate records and protect data confidentiality; report to work reliably; perform other duties as assigned.
