The Mount Mercy University College of Nursing & Health Sciences located in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a dynamic Simulation Director to lead the operations of our Clinical Simulation Lab (CSL). This position is responsible for the overall administration, teaching, and strategic growth of the CSL, ensuring students and faculty benefit from an innovative, high-quality simulation learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all CSL activities, including simulation and skills-based learning experiences.
  • Supervise Simulation Lab staff, work-study students, and assist in recruitment, hiring, and training.
  • Collaborate with faculty to integrate simulation into curriculum and orient new faculty to CSL resources.
  • Manage CSL budget, order equipment and supplies, and ensure proper maintenance of lab technology.
  • Lead strategic planning for simulation initiatives and contribute to program assessment.
  • Coordinate scheduling, tours, and community outreach to promote the CSL and support student recruitment.
  • Chair the Instructional Technology Committee and serve on other college committees.
  • Ensure compliance with FERPA, HIPAA, OSHA, IBON, and other regulatory standards.
  • Participate in professional development and maintain alignment with INACSL standards.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Nursing required.
  • Current Iowa RN license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Academic teaching and healthcare system experience desirable.
  • Strong leadership, management, and budgeting skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and university database systems.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management abilities.
