Are you a self-motivated and creative person looking to begin their career in social media and marketing? Would you like to gain lifelong experiences working as an Intern for the Cedar Rapids Public Library? In this position the candidate would have to be enthusiastic, responsible, and resourceful. The candidate would also need excellent attention to detail skills and be able to work independently.

Assists Community Relations Team in developing engaging content for social media platforms, including copywriting, graphics, and video content.

Job Duties & Responsibilities- Gathers content from library programs, events, and workplace as requested;
- Works with staff to tell the story of the library through social media;
- Work closely with team members on ideation and creation of social media;
- Track social media performance and provide insights to help optimize content based on data-driven analysis;
- Attends work regularly at the designated place and time;
- Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with City policies, procedures and safety practices;
- Performs related work as required.
- Ability to show good judgment, strong attention to detail, and manage projects from beginning to end;
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment;
- Experience using social media;
- Proven ability to create content for different platforms;
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team;
- Be available for 20 - 25 hours a week;
- Ability to communicate professionally over the phone and email;
- Flexibility to work select special events and programs days, nights, and weekends;
- Ability to secure own transportation to and from assignments.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License

- Varies as needed. Starting May 25 or June 1, ending August 8 or later. 20-25 hours per week,
