Job Summary
The Safety Coordinator supports construction operations by promoting a safe and compliant work environment across active job sites. This role is responsible for implementing safety programs, conducting on-site safety activities, and ensuring adherence to established safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The Safety Coordinator works closely with project teams and general contractors to proactively identify and mitigate hazards while fostering a strong culture of safety.
Job Responsibilities
Conduct on-site safety orientations for new employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
Lead and document regular safety meetings and toolbox talks.
Monitor job sites to ensure compliance with applicable safety policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions to reduce risk.
Coordinate safety efforts with the general contractor and other project stakeholders.
Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and documentation.
Support incident investigations and assist with corrective and preventive action plans.
Job Requirements
OSHA 500 or OSHA 510 certification.
Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) certification.
Strong knowledge of construction safety standards and best practices.
Ability to communicate safety expectations clearly to diverse teams.
Proficiency with basic documentation and reporting tools.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Additional safety-related education or training is preferred.
Work Experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a construction safety position.
