Deli Clerk

Overview

Join Sprouts Farmers Market as a Deli Clerk in a fast‑paced retail environment. You’ll prepare fresh meals, assist customers, and maintain a clean deli area.

• Assist customers in making healthy food choices by preparing “fresh and easy meals.”
• Provide high level of customer service and ensure deli items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented; maintain cleanliness of deli area.
• Fill, maintain, and rotate products and displays.
• Prepare special orders and party trays.
• Operate meat and cheese slicers, ovens, microwaves, cutting tools, scales, and other deli equipment following company standards and procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary deli area and equipment; clean shelves, keep floors free of spills, remove hazardous debris, sweep.
• Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality.

• Be at least 18 years old; high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working in grocery, restaurant, or related field, or acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Dependable, reliable, friendly behavior with a positive attitude.
• Work flexible schedule that changes as the business changes, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Good communication skills; can take direction and participate in a team environment.
• Answer phones and take special orders.
• Lift/carry product weighing up to 70 lbs. from 4” to 60” for up to 20 feet without mechanical assistance for up to 4 hours.
• Stand for up to 4 hours continuously, total of 8 hours per shift.
• General housekeeping; clean and sanitize work area.
• Operate slicer, wrapping and cooking equipment; keep equipment safe.
• Adhere to safety, health, and weights & measures regulations; maintain Food Handlers permit.
• Work in different temperature environments (cooler and freezer).
• Other related duties as assigned.
