Position SummaryThe Microsoft 365 Engineer is responsible for administering, maintaining, and establishing system standards for Ten Cate’s messaging and communication solutions. This role supports enterprise Microsoft 365 services, provides advanced troubleshooting for escalated incidents, and partners with internal IT teams to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable collaboration platforms across a globally distributed organization.
Duties And Responsibilities- Administer, maintain, and establish system standards for messaging and communication solutions, including but not limited to:
- Microsoft Hybrid Exchange
- Email security (phishing, malware, spam)
- Microsoft Teams and other collaboration solutions
- Support users and internal IT colleagues with Microsoft 365 related questions and troubleshooting
- Provide analysis, remediation, and advanced support for escalated incidents
- Plan, coordinate, and execute migrations to Microsoft 365, including:
- Tenant to tenant
- On-prem to online
- Assist with configuration of policies in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, including security, compliance, and collaboration settings
- Assist with permissions management and user account setup within the Microsoft 365 environment
- Perform eDiscovery and content searches and provide data to authorized personnel as directed
- Develop and maintain written documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Provide documentation, guidance, and instruction to Tier I and Tier II service desk teams for handling standard messaging-related incidents, work orders, and service requests
- Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) activities as required
- 3+ years of experience administering Microsoft 365 services, including:
- Exchange Online
- Microsoft Teams
- Related Microsoft cloud services
- Working experience with Microsoft Purview, Litigation Hold, and compliance processes
- Proficiency with Power Shell scripting for automation and administration
- Strong understanding of external email routing and configuration, including:
- MX records
- SPF, DMARC, and DKIM
- Experience with Entra (Azure AD) and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem
- Knowledge of Intune and Mobile Device Management (MDM)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively support end users and technical teams
- Experience working in a globally oriented organization with multiple stakeholders
- 3+ years of experience working in a large enterprise environment (2,500+ users)
- Experience working with a managed service provider (MSP)
- Microsoft certifications are a plus, including:
- MS-102
- MD-102
- MS-700
- MS-721
- SC-300
- Additional experience that will help you stand out:
- Microsoft Teams Unified Communications (chat, meetings, video, voice, E911)
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking and Quality of Service (QoS)
- Microsoft Teams Rooms and video conferencing room solutions
- Microsoft SharePoint Online administration
- Hybrid role based in Austin, TX
- Occasional off-hours work may be required to support system releases, upgrades, or outages
- Up to 10% travel required to support IT projects and team collaboration
- International travel will be required; a valid passport or the ability to obtain one is necessary
