Certified Surgical Technologist

St. David's North Austin Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, invites applicants to join our team as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST). This position supports patient care during surgical procedures in a sterile environment.

• Assist in the cleaning and preparation of the operating room suite.
• Support surgeon and nursing staff by providing appropriate instrumentation.
• Maintain sterile field and assist with equipment handling.
• Prepare patients, equipment, and rooms for each procedure.
• Maintain instrument counts and supply management.
• Assist the circulating nurse and RN as directed.
• Perform intra‑operative management and anticipate surgeon needs.
• Provide care for patients before, during, and after surgery.
• Ensure compliance with infection‑control standards.

• Previous experience as a Surgical Technician in inpatient surgical specialties.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or approved hospital training program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David’s policy.
• Current Surgical Technologist certification earned within 180 days of graduation if graduated after September 1 2009.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
• Strong organization, teamwork, and communication skills.

Certified Surgical Technologist program or equivalent hospital training. Proof of program completion required.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Certifications from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, the National Center for Competency Testing, or an approved program.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – preferred.
