Responsibilities- Perform prescribed CT - Computed Tomographic procedures.
- Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in the use of CT scan equipment.
- Demonstrate knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
- Document information seen during the exam on film or in writing.
- Relay relevant patient information to physicians as appropriate.
- Apply principles of radiation safety to minimize risk to patients, staff, and others.
- Participate in a rotating call schedule.
- Perform in other areas of the department as needed.
- Education:
Associate Degree or higher in Radiologic Technology. - Graduate of an educational program in radiology accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or an AMA-approved program in Radiologic Technology, or a military training program of equivalent standards.
- Experience:
One to two years of CT experience preferred.
- Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist by the Texas Medical Board (TMB).
- Registered Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT (R)) and post-primary certification in Computed Tomography (ARRT (CT)) within 6 months of hire. If hired prior to 4/13/12, and grandfathered by the state of Texas, CMRT may be required.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
