USPI Hill Country Ambulatory Surgery Center is seeking a motivated Endoscopy Technician to join our team. We have 1 OR room and 3 procedure rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Gastroenterology.
Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.
The Endo Tech assists the endoscopy team during endoscopy procedures. They arrange and inventory sterile setup for operation and pass items as needed to the team. The Endo Tech assists in preparing and moving patients, and in cleaning the endoscopy room. The Endo Tech is responsible for providing care to meet identified patient outcomes and to achieve the goals of the facility as directed by the Registered Nurse.
Provides centralized distribution and control of supplies and equipment to the facility. The tech also stores prepared articles and supplies in designated areas. Maintains and tracks inventory according to facility procedures. This position reports to the Charge Nurse and ASC Director.
- Perform all nursing duties in accordance with the state Nursing Practice Act, while adhering to all facility policies and procedures.
- Actively demonstrate a working knowledge of nursing theory, techniques, principles, and practice in order to care for the patient.
- Perform routine nursing care while utilizing age‑specific and universal precaution practices at all times. Monitor patient progress and identify any changes in status, acting on those changes to ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Assist physicians and all healthcare professionals caring for patients, always giving a complete and thorough report on patient status throughout the procedure process.
- Communicate with all staff, patients, and families with excellent written and verbal skills.
- Consistently seek educational tools in order to broaden knowledge base of various age groups, diseases, and best practices.
- Collaborate with the Infection Control Committee in preventing and identifying potential infections.
- Support and demonstrate continuous improvement of quality and service excellence.
- May perform other tasks as assigned.
- High school graduate or equivalent
- 2+ years’ experience in an established endoscopy center
- Current BLS certification
- Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical setting preferred
