Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Technician Supervisor to lead spacecraft integration activities, overseeing mechanical, electrical, and propulsion system integration and verification. This role ensures safe, high-quality, and on-schedule integration of flight hardware while developing a high-performing technician team.
The ideal candidate is a floor-focused leader who enforces process discipline, removes obstacles, and partners with engineering and quality to deliver mission-ready spacecraft.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Supervise and develop technicians performing spacecraft integration tasks.
- Set clear expectations for safety, quality, productivity, and workmanship.
- Plan staffing, training, and shift coverage to meet integration schedules
- Oversee installation and integration of structures, mechanisms, avionics, harnessing, propulsion components, tubing, valves, and pressurized systems.
- Ensure compliance with torque requirements, connector mating standards, cable routing, grounding, and system cleanliness.
- Enforce FOD prevention, ESD controls, configuration control, and proper documentation.
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of integration issues across mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols for high-pressure systems and hazardous operations.
- Promote a strong safety culture and enforce PPE, hazard controls, and procedural compliance.
- Partner with Quality to resolve nonconformances and ensure hardware traceability.
- Verify work instructions and configuration changes are properly implemented.
- Monitor integration flow, remove bottlenecks, and escalate risks to schedule or hardware.
- Provide status updates and support readiness reviews.
Required
- High school diploma or GED (technical degree or certification preferred).
- 5+ years of aerospace or complex electromechanical integration experience.
- 1+ years of leadership experience (lead technician or supervisor).
- Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
- Experience in cleanroom or controlled integration environments.
- Spacecraft or launch vehicle integration experience.
- Familiarity with propulsion systems and high-pressure fluid systems.
- Knowledge of AS9100, NASA workmanship standards, or similar quality systems.
- Experience with configuration control and flight hardware traceability.
