The Liturgy Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the normal week-to-week liturgies and special liturgies (i.e. Holy Days of Obligation and Holy Week) of the parish to assure that everything runs smoothly and that ministry volunteers and clergy have what they need to succeed.

EssentialJob Duties
- As an integral part of your ministry for the Church as carried out in this position, support and uphold the faith and morals of Catholic ministry and the mission of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in both your professional and personal life.
- To live out the core values of St. Margaret Mary parish, especially the core values of Team Player and Joyful Servant as you serve in this role.
- Continuously grow in your ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed.
- Supporting and overseeing all liturgical ministry leaders for both English and Spanish masses (i.e. Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, Ushers, Altar Servers, etc.) making sure they have what they need to flourish in their roles.
- Overseeing and organizing special liturgical events (i.e. Advent and Lent Penance Services).
- Assuring that ministry leaders have training manuals that are up-to-date and that they are conducting annual trainings.
- Oversee Ministry Scheduler Pro and all things pertaining to scheduling of liturgical ministries to assure we have the ministers needed for all daily, weekend and Holy Day masses.
- To be available for calls on weekends in the event something is needed for the liturgy.
- Regularly be present before different weekend masses to see how things are operating (It is not required to be present before all masses each weekend. Simply from time to time to be present before different masses to assure things are running smoothly).
- Facilitate communication between ministry leaders, clergy, staff, etc. to assure everyone is working in unison.
- Preside over and conduct Liturgy Committee meetings in collaboration with the Pastor.
- Work with the Communications Coordinator to assure that necessary materials (i.e. liturgical binders) are ready for weekend and Holy Day masses.
- Collaborate with Events Coordinator and Music Director as needed.
- Collaborate with Facilities Coordinator to assure all liturgical supplies are ordered and stocked.
- Collaborating with Homebound/hospital volunteers.
- Oversee the décor of the worship space and the care and cleanliness of sacred vessels and vestments.
- Attend weekly staff meetings.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Skill in using office equipment (e.g. copiers, telephone system, laminating machine, etc.)
- Skill in using computers and related software applications (e.g. Ministry Scheduler Pro, word processing software, spreadsheets, email, etc.).
- Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be a servant leader.
- Skill in organizing people, events, and information.
- Ability to learn new software programs as needed.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church staff, clergy, peers, and laity.
- Ability to work with and lead a diverse group of volunteers.
- Ability to follow instructions furnished in verbal or written format.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
Education and Trainings:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience:
- 2 years or more experience of volunteering in a liturgical ministry
Language:
- English (proficient in conversing, reading, and writing)
- Spanish (preferred but not required)
Catholic Requirement:
- Must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies throughout the employment period.
- Valid Texas driver’s license.

Working in a fast-paced environment with priorities and plans that may change rapidly.
Will be exposed to religious ceremonies, conduct, and speech, including Roman Catholic Christian prayer and liturgical celebrations.
Will be required to adhere to established codes and conduct standards, including but not limited to EIM standards of conduct in the workplace and outside of the workplace.
May be required to use personal vehicles to drive to other parishes or other off-site locations.
