Department Manager

About the Role

As a Department Manager, you will lead and encourage your whole team, creating an inclusive culture that promotes collaboration and an entrepreneurial spirit. You will support an excellent operational and visual experience for your store, customers, and colleagues, analyze sales and follow up on results and profits, and optimize results and profits.

• Responsible for the total OMNI customer experience in your store, ensuring visual and commercial curation according to global guidelines.
• Represent the H&M brand positively during customer interactions.
• Take responsibility for your department's strengths and commercial opportunities and act on them.
• Establish and analyze sales and budget goals, creating plans to optimize results.
• Ensure customer service is provided in all areas and promote and sell products to customers.
• Promote the Customer Loyalty App (Hello Member) and in‑store sustainability initiatives.
• Manage the department cost‑efficiently.
• Maintain correct routines in fitting room and checkout, including transaction, returns and exchanges.
• Handle all admin routines for both people and operations correctly.

• Keep up‑to‑date with fashion, trends, styles, brands, products, competitors and relevant influencers.
• Provide product and fashion knowledge and relevant information during customer interactions.

• Recruit, onboard, manage performance, upskill and develop the team in‑store.
• Complete performance evaluations and succession planning to support business and team needs.
• Retain and share knowledge and skills with the team.
• Collaborate with the Visual Merchandiser team.
• Give and receive feedback to develop and support each other.
• Plan and schedule the team.
• Communicate to store colleagues to inform, motivate and inspire through daily and weekly meetings.
• Follow legal requirements and procedures in all store areas.
• Participate in onboarding and training relevant for the role and future development.

• Maintain a clean and tidy sales floor and back of house.
• Ensure high fashion quality, visual and commercial product presentation with good garment care.
• Secure good stock levels and provide input on allocation to area team.
• Follow the full garment cycle and fitting room routines according to internal standards and routines.
• Follow best practice for in‑store OMNI services and in‑store tech services/tools.
• Maintain price signs in‑store and throughout the sales floor following global and local guidelines.
• Update and maintain BOH areas for all colleagues.
• Responsible for opening and closing the store daily.

• Strong leader who enjoys taking responsibility for others.
• Ambitious, effective communicator, supportive, analytical solution finder, capable of working with numbers and statistics.
• Achievement‑oriented, customer‑centric and motivated by performance and competition.

Expected base salary range is $18.98–$22.39 hourly.
