Product Inspection & Testing
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of fasteners (bolts, nuts, screws, washers, etc.) using appropriate measuring equipment.
- Verify product conformance to technical drawings, standards (ISO, DIN, ANSI, ASTM), and customer-specific requirements.
- Conduct dimensional, visual, mechanical, and coating inspections as needed.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, certificates of conformance, and related documentation.
- Support the Quality Management System (QMS), including document control and record retention.
- Assist with internal audits and preparation for external audits (ISO 9001 or similar).
- Create, update, and maintain inspection plans, work instructions, and quality forms.
- Identify, document, and escalate non-conforming material.
- Assist with root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities.
- Support containment actions and verify completed corrective actions.
- Support supplier quality activities, including review of inspection reports and certifications.
- Assist with supplier corrective action requests (SCARs) when required.
- Support investigations related to customer inquiries, returns, and quality claims.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and company policies in warehouse and inspection areas.
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in a quality, inspection, or technical role (distribution, manufacturing, or industrial environment preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, and height gauges.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Experience in fastener, industrial, or metal products industries.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality standards.
- Basic understanding of statistical concepts and quality tools (SPC, 8D, root cause analysis).
- Experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable working in warehouse and inspection settings.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout warehouse and inspection areas.
- Ability to lift up to [X] lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to visually inspect small components and accurately read measurement tools.
