You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations.

You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues.

• Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reactions, following the SOPs for medical emergencies, developing Center Physician standing orders, and transporting donors to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings, donor safety and eligibility guidance, or medical/technical issues.
• Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, following EHS guidance.
• Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.

• High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned:
  Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
• Fulfilled state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Satisfactorily completed the FDA‑approved training requirements for a Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
