The Position:

We are currently hiring a Project Coordinator within the Civil Division at our Cedar Falls location. We are looking for candidates who are innovative, self-motivated, with exceptional decision-making skills.

The Project Coordinator works with the Project Manager and Project Supervisors as an administrative resource, ensuring project organization and scheduling by performing project related tasks. Candidates must be able to adapt to changing work environments, be actively engaged in K&W Electric, Inc.’s safety policies, and be able to maintain a positive image of one’s self and of the Company.

  • Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Track progression of projects and request weekly production reports from field employees
  • Submit production reports to the General Contractor or Owner/Client every two weeks
  • Track billings and follow up as necessary with General Contractor or Owner/Client to ensure on-time payments
  • Request and post shop drawings on Doc Express; manage review and approval process
  • Release material orders timely once shop drawings have been approved
  • Track receipt of materials and coordinate with vendors on arrival schedules; verify location of materials post receipt
  • Obtain all necessary certifications for projects and post them to Doc Express
  • Complete and post daily traffic control logs when K&W is the project’s General Contractor
  • Complete final paperwork to expedite close out process
  • Manage employee certifications
  • Coordinate process flow of repair requests: monitor progress of requests and completions; order and track receipt of materials; receive, submit and manage shop drawings
  • Additional Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Obtain permits, schedule inspections and service applications
  • Accrue project plans, making available to crews as needed
  • Acquire hotel reservations as needed for crews
  • Request locates, ensuring crews have necessary utility locates for project sites
  • Request and track all required material testing and required tool testing
  • Assist as needed with bids on letting days
  • Minimum Requirements and

    Experience:
  • Ability to collaborate and contribute within a team structure
  • Capability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Experience or ability to learn industry specific software such as Doc Express
  • A valid Driver’s License with ability to meet company driving standards
  • Experience as a Project Coordinator or in an administrative support role preferred
  • High School Diploma/Equivalency
  • Successfully passing drug and background screenings
  • Salary is negotiable, based on qualifications: knowledge and previous experience.
