Job Title
Delivery Driver
Key Responsibilities- Operate all equipment.
- Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, walk‑in cooler.
- Prepare product.
- Receive and process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
- Complete orientation and training on the job.
- Communicate effectively with customers and co‑workers to process orders over the phone and in person.
- Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Read and navigate maps, locate addresses within the designated delivery area, and navigate adverse terrain such as multi‑story buildings, private homes and other delivery sites while carrying product.
- Deliver pizzas via car to the customer’s door, deliver flyers and door hangers.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Hold a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
- Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
- Possess navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses.
- Ability to drive in adverse terrain including multi‑story buildings and private homes.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide accurately and quickly (may use a calculator).
- Ability to make correct monetary change.
- Verbal, written and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to rapidly and accurately make precise movements with speed.
- Basic math and computer literacy.
- Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when delivering product, driving and couponing.
- In‑store temperatures range from 36°F in cooler to 90°F and above in some work areas.
- Sudden changes in temperature on the job and while outside.
- Fumes from food odors.
- Exposure to cornmeal dust.
- Cramped quarters, including walk‑in cooler.
- Hot surfaces/tools from oven up to 500°F or higher.
- Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
The ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet strict quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, make judgments and decisions.
- Standing – Most tasks are performed while standing on ceramic tile or linoleum; height of work surfaces between 36" and 48".
- Walking – For short distances and short durations; traveling between store and delivery vehicle.
- Sitting – Paperwork normally completed in an office at a desk or table.
- Lifting – Bulk product deliveries twice a week or more; cases weighing up to 50 pounds up to 3′×1.5′; unloaded with a hand truck.
- Carrying – Large cans (≈3 lb 7 oz), pizza sauce (≈30 lb), trays of pizza dough (≈12 lb per tray) carried over short distances.
- Pushing – Trays on dollies; force up to 7.5 lb.
- Climbing – Navigate stairs or ladder to change signs or perform maintenance; during delivery up to five flights of stairs may be required.
- Stooping and bending required at pizza assembly station and front counter.
- Crouching and squatting occasional for stocking shelves and cleaning low areas.
- Reaching up, down and forward frequently; sometimes above 72" or below.
- Hand tasks include eye‑hand coordination for shaping pizza dough, manipulating pizza peel and rolling cutter, pinching during cardboard box assembly.
- Use of coffee/tools such as pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators.
- Driving duties include delivering product by car, delivering flyers and door hangers.
