Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.

Schedule
  • Clinic hours:
    Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
  • Position works four days per week
  • One weekend shift per month required
  • On the assigned weekend, on-call coverage is required until 5:00 p.m.
Essential Functions
  • Assess:
    Performs appropriate assessment of physical, social, and psychological status; gathers information from the patient, family, physician, and interdisciplinary team.
  • Plan:
    Develops an individualized plan of care with patient and family involvement; coordinates education and referrals as needed.
  • Implement:
    Directs the interdisciplinary care team, delegates and coordinates care, manages time, supplies, and resources.
  • Evaluate:
    Reviews outcomes and satisfaction; revises the plan of care as indicated.
  • Professionalism:
    Maintains legal and ethical standards, complies with regulatory requirements, documents accurately and timely, and understands legal implications of care delivery.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice. Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment.
  • RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their BSN within four years of hire.
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution; degree will be verified.
  • BSN is required as of the job description's last update on 4/27/2025. Employees hired or promoted prior to this date will be held to the minimum requirements in place at the time of hire/promotion.
Physical Requirements
  • Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment.
  • Frequent communication with patients and staff; must hear and understand spoken information and alarms, including during emergencies.
  • Manual dexterity to manipulate equipment; computer use for documenting patient care.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver patients and materials; ability to walk and transport equipment; navigate busy environments.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods as required.
  • For roles requiring driving: ability to drive and read signs and signals.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
