Position: Part Time Level II Special Education Paraprofessional - 2 Positions Available- Cedar Middle School

Part Time Level II Special Education Paraprofessional – 2 Positions Available (Cedar Middle School)

We want you to join our team and help make a difference in the lives of students and families in Iron County School District. Cedar Middle School is seeking TWO Part Time Level II Special Education Paraprofessional.

Hours:

27.5 hours a week. 17.5 hours a week. This position will remain open until filled.

The Part Time Level II Special Education Paraprofessional is under the direction of the Special Education Teacher to provide education and related services to students with disabilities. The position requires the incumbent to lift and support students, change protective clothing, implement behavior management plans, operate adaptive equipment (wheelchairs, etc.), and communicate effectively with students and staff.

  • Provides instructional support assistance to students and student groups to reinforce and follow up learning activity.
  • Assists in observing and recording behavior patterns and follows appropriate techniques to reinforce acceptable behavior.
  • Assists certified educators with the presentation of learning materials and instructional exercise.
  • Assists in responsibility for procedures related to physical and medical needs.
  • Depending on position, may be asked to assist students, as needed in learning self-care techniques, including toilet training, bathing and personal cleanliness; may be asked to assist in diapering, toilet training, feeding, and other self help skills if needed.
  • Participates in the development, maintenance, and carrying out of systems for classroom management.
  • Guides students in working and interacting harmoniously with other students.
  • Supervises students in all areas of the school.
  • Operates various types of office equipment such as computers, copy machines, etc.
  • Regular, reliable, predictable attendance and job performance is required.
  • Monitor students inside and outside of the building during lunch hour.
  • Must have basic computer knowledge, be familiar with Google docs and check email frequently. Must be willing to learn and use all computer systems and software as needed.
