Southern Utah University (SUU) invites applications for a full-time, tenure track, Assistant Professor of History in the Department of History, Sociology, and Anthropology, to begin August 15, 2026. We seek a historian of nineteenth-century U.S. history. The candidate s areas of sub-specialty should complement and expand the department s current course offerings.

First consideration date: 12/12/2025

• The annual teaching assignment will be the equivalent of 8 undergraduate courses spread across two semesters (a 4/4 load).
• Primary responsibilities will include General Education courses in American History and upper-division elective courses in the successful candidate s area of specialty.

Minimum Qualifications

• Terminal degree in History.
• Prior experience teaching undergraduate courses.
