Overview
Performing Arts Assistant (Music) – Discovery Ranch South, Cedar City, UT.

Part time | $15-$17 DOE
Please note that in addition to weekday shifts, this position requires availability for some weekend shifts.
Responsibilities- Teach the students at Discovery Ranch music and prepare them for performances.
- Support performing arts programs and ensure smooth operations within the department.
- Manage scheduling and departmental correspondence.
- Maintain organized records.
- Plan and execute rehearsals, performances, and workshops as needed.
- Serve as a liaison among staff and students.
- Assist in creating and developing performing arts projects.
- Track program budgets and expenditures.
- Provide support during rehearsals, performances, and off-campus events.
- Jammerz responsibilities: help kids come together with music to form their own band and prepare for performances; teach instruments (guitar, bass, piano, vocals, drums) and parts for songs; help them learn to play in rhythm and together; select appropriate repertoire per skill level and theme; audition students regularly.
- Main Objectives:
Teaching skills to help kids become more knowledgeable and confident in their performing arts and musical abilities. - Essential Functions:
Support rehearsals; assist girls in preparing for music and dance performances.
- Basic knowledge of guitars including tuning and restringing guitars
- Basic understanding of piano, acoustic and electric guitar, bass, drums, and ukulele
- Basic understanding of how to set up and use amps, and microphones
- Must be available to work all-day trips and concerts 4-6 times a year
- 21+ years of age
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Eligible to work in the USA
- Able to pass background check
- Able to pass motor vehicle record check
- Current Utah driver's license (within 30 days of employment)
- Works well within a team
- Strong problem-solving aptitude
- Good judgement
