Performing Arts Assistant (Music) – Discovery Ranch South, Cedar City, UT.

Part time | $15-$17 DOE

Please note that in addition to weekday shifts, this position requires availability for some weekend shifts.

• Teach the students at Discovery Ranch music and prepare them for performances.
• Support performing arts programs and ensure smooth operations within the department.
• Manage scheduling and departmental correspondence.
• Maintain organized records.
• Plan and execute rehearsals, performances, and workshops as needed.
• Serve as a liaison among staff and students.
• Assist in creating and developing performing arts projects.
• Track program budgets and expenditures.
• Provide support during rehearsals, performances, and off-campus events.

• Jammerz responsibilities: help kids come together with music to form their own band and prepare for performances; teach instruments (guitar, bass, piano, vocals, drums) and parts for songs; help them learn to play in rhythm and together; select appropriate repertoire per skill level and theme; audition students regularly.
• Main Objectives:
  Teaching skills to help kids become more knowledgeable and confident in their performing arts and musical abilities.
• Essential Functions:
  
  Support rehearsals; assist girls in preparing for music and dance performances.

• Basic knowledge of guitars including tuning and restringing guitars
• Basic understanding of piano, acoustic and electric guitar, bass, drums, and ukulele
• Basic understanding of how to set up and use amps, and microphones
• Must be available to work all-day trips and concerts 4-6 times a year
• 21+ years of age
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Eligible to work in the USA
• Able to pass background check
• Able to pass motor vehicle record check
• Current Utah driver's license (within 30 days of employment)
• Works well within a team
• Strong problem-solving aptitude
• Good judgement
• Safety-oriented
