This position functions independently to provide administrative support and coordination for the SUU Police Department. Responsibilities include detailed record keeping, data collection and analysis, and data reporting related to law enforcement and State or Federal requirements. This person works closely with department leadership and the Chief of Police to oversee budgets, department purchasing matters, and personnel coordination with HR. They oversee departmental Terminal Agency Coordinator, fingerprinting, and front‑office assignments.
EssentialFunctions
- Provide administrative support to department leadership and officers, including logs, front office supervision and student employee training, Banner Admin interface, budget updates, reconciling purchasing card receipts, and coordinating travel authorizations.
- Compile data for Clery reporting, maintain department databases related to crime reporting (daily and monthly) and deliver pertinent information to Student Affairs, Human Resources, and other University senior administrative units.
- Provide localized support for hiring and terminating positions; work with HR to complete these and other processes related to departmental personnel.
- Perform tasks related to department purchasing, such as coordinating bids, evaluating proposals, submitting purchase requisitions, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Oversee all requests for fingerprints and database entry. Provide invoicing and payment management to campus departments.
- Assist department Terminal Agency Coordinator to ensure the department stays compliant with all State and Federal laws pertaining to the Utah Criminal Justice Information System.
- Work with campus departments and organizations when officer coverage is requested for campus events.
- Oversee AED systems on campus. Ensure regular inspections and maintenance are being performed. Maintain police equipment inventory – uniforms, gear, etc.

- 2-Year / Associate degree.
- Must be able to pass a background check sufficient to work in law enforcement.
- Minimum of five years recent office experience, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google platforms, and software related to law enforcement data collection and record keeping.
- Must be able to work with fingerprinting and the Utah Bureau of Criminal Investigations.
- Must have excellent time management skills; capable of calendaring and planning for department deadlines; ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
- History of dependability, reliability, and initiative; neat in appearance.
- Must have a valid Utah driver's license.
- 4-Year / Bachelor's degree.
- Experience supporting law enforcement operations, including preparing and submitting crime reports, officer schedules, and using law enforcement databases.
This position is contingent on funding.
