Automotive Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic
As a Vehicle Mechanic, you'll play a vital role in supporting the UK's defence capability. You'll be responsible for servicing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles and electrical equipment – ensuring they're ready for action when it matters most. Day‑to‑day responsibilities- Carrying out servicing, repairs, and overhauls to meet production requirements
- Diagnosing, inspecting, and assessing vehicles and associated equipment
- Completing documentation and test certificates to current standards
- Ensuring correct use of stores and returning unused or faulty items
- Creating job cards and requesting materials using ERP (SAP) systems
Successful candidates will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment. The role involves manual work including lifting, bending, using tools, or standing for extended periods.
This is a full‑time, permanent role based onsite king times are Monday to Friday, totalling 37 hours per week.
Qualifications- Previous experience in a similar mechanical role
- Experience in a dealership or local garage
- Hydraulics experience
- NVQ Level 3 in Service and Repair or equivalent mechanical qualification
- Ability to adapt and build rapport across teams
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
