Position SummaryThe Field Sales Representative serves as the primary liaison between Metrolina Greenhouses and customer store operators, ensuring effective communication of corporate direction, supporting sales growth, and strengthening relationships from store associates to regional leadership. This hybrid role combines in‑store support, merchandising, and merchant/buyer relations to drive sales and operational excellence.
Job Function- Primary Metrolina Greenhouses contact for all store personnel within your territory.
- Deliver daily field insights on product quality, store challenges, and inventory needs.
- Communication and Reporting
- Engage stores with updates on new programs and upcoming initiatives.
- Build strong relationships through face‑to‑face meetings with key store personnel.
- Lead dynamic weekly conference calls to share insights and align goals.
- Deliver a weekly newsletter packed with valuable information, tips, and highlights.
- Guide stores in executing merchandising strategies—optimizing product availability, layouts, signage, and inventory.
- Serve as the go‑to resource for stores, quickly addressing needs from event support to overstock solutions.
- In Store Merchandising
- Deliver hands‑on merchandising training to empower store teams.
- Provide on‑demand merchandising support during peak seasons.
- Event and Meeting Support
- Champion Metrolina Greenhouses at customer events, including Grand Openings, Special Store Events, and Pro Buys.
- Participate in corporate meetings, weekly team calls, and the Annual Summer Meeting.
- Take ownership of event and meeting logistics—gathering key information, crafting presentations, and ensuring seamless setup for Kick‑Off Meetings.
- Field Intelligence & Feedback
- Share timely, actionable field intelligence with the Account Manager.
- Capture and send photos or detailed observations for office teams.
- Highlight and report product quality successes and issues to ensure continuous improvement.
- Flag and resolve tagging, UPC, retail, or ad confirmation issues.
- Keep the Key Account Manager and Replenishment Analyst informed of important store status changes.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with two years’ relevant work experience.
- Experience ensuring data integrity by validating information before sharing.
- Proficient in analyzing data from X3 order management system, BI, SEI, Power BI, and customer reports.
- Proficient in Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) and M3 In‑Store APP.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills across all organizational levels.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Customer‑focused mindset with a commitment to supporting store teams.
- Prior live‑goods experience.
- Lowe’s experience.
- Experience in a seasonally driven industry or position.
- Employees must live in the territory (Baltimore, MD or Northern VA preferred).
- The role involves primarily outdoor work in store garden centers and frequent travel between locations.
- Administrative duties include creating Power Points, data analysis, and market feedback.
- Travel of up to 50–75% of the time; heavier travel during peak season with overnight travel required.
- Physical requirements:
lift and push up to 35 lbs unassisted, 50 lbs with assistance; walk, squat, twist, bend, reach, climb stairs or step stools under 5 feet.
