Main Purpose of Job

A Health Records Reviewer is the full performance level of work reviewing health records in order to make recommendations concerning the duration and continuation of patients' stays in a State Facility or local health department and to ensure compliance with facility policies. This position does not supervise other positions and will receive general supervision from a designated administrator/Senior Director of Health Information Management.

This level of work consists of compiling and maintaining records at Spring Grove Hospital Center (SGHC).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education
:
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience
:
Three years of experience compiling and maintaining health records.

Notes
:

  • Candidates may substitute additional experience on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Medical Record classifications or Patient Administration Specialists and Health Services Management specialty codes in the health records management field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
