• Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.
• Adhere to the company's limits on cash shortages and overages, working honestly to control loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
• Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers, answering questions about products.
• Comply with all laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Work effectively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
• Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary.
• Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
