JOB TITLE: HVAC Technician

JOB FUNCTION:

• Perform skilled mechanical duties in the startup, repairs, installation, preventive maintenance, and routine servicing of HVAC equipment.

• On‑site startup technician for various manufacturers
• Troubleshoot installation of control systems
• Solving issues using reasoning and logic
• Communication with individuals who installed the system
• Programming of new control systems using touchscreens and computers
• Documentation of actions taken on the job site on service reports
• Understanding and reading wiring diagrams during troubleshooting
• Completing all startup documentation and sending it to be entered for warranty
• Perform other duties and assignments
• Maintain regular good attendance

• Standard practices of the HVAC trade
• Theory of HVAC and refrigeration systems
• Computer usage: basic data entry and ability to navigate email, internet, and word‑processing programs
• Materials, methods, and tools used in the operation and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems
• Manual and electrical tools and equipment applicable to the HVAC and refrigeration trade
• Brazing and soldering techniques
• Health and safety regulations
• Basic record‑keeping techniques
• Proper methods of storing equipment, materials, and supplies

• High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate
• Two years of HVAC training program

• Valid California license
• Active EPA Universal Technician Certification
• OSHA 10
