- Receive repair orders.
- Perform work as outlined in the repair order efficiently, accurately, and without errors or damage.
- Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform repairs.
- Communicate with office staff to obtain parts for repairs.
- Examine vehicles to determine if additional work is required.
- Notify office staff if additional work is needed or if the repair will need additional time.
- Document all work performed with all items used.
- Ensure customer vehicles are kept in the same or better condition than when they arrived.
- Keep shop area neat and clean – clean spills or dirt; clean work area daily.
- Account for all shop‑owned tools at all times.
- Monitor inventory.
- Perform maintenance on any shop equipment used.
- Maintain and clear shop equipment and tools; ensure they are kept safe and usable.
- Adhere to company work safety policies.
- Road‑test vehicles as needed.
- Perform all Express Technician duties and, for those with 3+ years’ experience, assess vehicles to accurately diagnose and repair issues, communicate with customers, prepare work estimates, and maintain accurate records.
- 1‑year minimum experience working at an auto repair shop.
- Current valid driver’s license with a good DMV record (clean record preferred). Ability to drive automatic & manual vehicles.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Computer literacy (G‑Mail, Google, web browsing, All Data).
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written).
- Reliably arrive for each scheduled shift on time.
- Exhibiting exceptional customer service skills.
- Highly organized with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Detail‑oriented with ability to multitask.
- Works well under pressure.
- Able to learn and adapt to changing work environments.
- Perform work tasks requested by management.
- Providing own tools is a plus.
- Technicians can expect frequent bending, sitting, and lifting of objects 50 lbs or greater.
- Expect the work environment to be moderately loud to loud; occasional very loud repair equipment can be noisy.
