, have exciting opportunities for experienced and ambitious Ground Engineers to join our expanding team in Castleford, West Yorkshire, UK.
This is a full time, permanent opportunity and you will be joining a knowledgeable and talented team within one of the UKs leading ground investigation companies. This position is open to those with industry experience who wish to take the next step in their career.
Key Responsibilities- Assisting with office-based duties and on-site ground investigation projects across the UK.
- Undertaking Phase 1 desk studies
- Liaising with clients, engineering supervisors and subcontractors.
- Setting up and organising ground investigation works.
- Supervising and completing intrusive ground investigations involving multiple techniques including sonic, rotary, cable percussion and window sampling boreholes, geophysics, trial pits amongst others.
- Soil and rock logging to current geotechnical standards, including laboratory scheduling.
- Processing field and laboratory results
- Report writing
- Previous UK ground investigation site experience is essential.
- BSc degree level qualified in Geology, Earth Science, Geography, Civil Engineering, Environmental Geoscience or a related environmental subject is essential
- A desire to become a key member of the local and national team of engineers through demonstrating excellence in their work.
- Be able to log samples to BS 5930+A2 technical standards
- A good knowledge of the principal soil and rock strata encountered in the UK
- Familiar with and be able to interpret geological maps and published geological data
- A basic understanding of water, ground and soil gas monitoring techniques
- Excellent report writing skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
- Full UK driving licence essential
- Commensurate on experience.
