Castle Rock Water provides drinking water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage systems for the Town of Castle Rock’s more than 80,000 residents and businesses. Castle Rock Water is a national leader in the water industry, recently expanding its infrastructure to accommodate reuse water, implementing progressive conservation measures and implementing legacy stormwater projects.
Whether managing water treatment at the award-winning plant, maintaining the $730 million in infrastructure, or ensuring and protecting long-term water, Castle Rock Water has many opportunities available to learn and grow with the organization.
- Performs preventative maintenance tasks to clean, inspect, test, service, and replace consumable parts (filters, oils, belts, etc.) on water pumping and treatment equipment
- Uses mechanical hand tools to maintain and make repairs on a variety of electro/mechanical devices used at water treatment plants, pump stations, storage tanks, wells, and lift stations
- Follows preventative maintenance schedules for equipment maintenance and maintains records of maintenance performed
- Operates a variety of equipment used by plant maintenance staff, such as mowers, line trimmers, 4X4 truck with snow plow, hoists and cranes, welding equipment, electric grinders, saws, drills, and hand tools
- Assists with troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance on pumps, motors and other electro/mechanical equipment
- Assists with the calibrations of level and flow indicating meters and transmitters
- Assists with troubleshooting of electrical equipment and using various electrical and mechanical tools and instruments
- Assists with the testing, calibration and maintenance of standby generators
- Performs basic building repairs and maintenance, and assists with installing light fixtures, replacing lights, patching walls, repairing doors and locks, and repairing and installing plumbing lines and fixtures
- Assists with the maintenance and repairs of heating and cooling equipment for buildings and underground vaults
- Adheres to all safety policies regarding confined space entry, personal protective equipment, fall protection, chemical handling, electrical safety, etc.
- Maintains records, updates information, and implements procedures and forms for maintenance and safety evaluations of equipment. Performs work order task management: opens, updates, and completes work tasks using Cartegraph
- Researches and evaluates equipment, tools, and parts, and makes recommendations for equipment purchases, replacements, and repairs
- This position is part of the Town's snow removal program. Will have scheduled on-call responsibilities through the winter months to remove snow using a 4-wheel drive pickup and/or heavy equipment. Snow removal shifts are typically 12 hours
- This position will be required to participate in the plant maintenance On-Call standby rotation (after hours and weekend on-call)
- Performs other duties as assigned or required
