Job Description
Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Embrace the Customer 1st strategy and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service. Responsibilities

  • Help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
  • Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to ensure they get what they want and need.
  • Check product quality to ensure freshness; review "sell by" dates and take appropriate action.
  • Provide customers with ordered fresh and non-perishable grocery products.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained; keep temperature logs.
  • Gain knowledge of products sold within the department; respond to questions and make suggestions.
  • Create an environment where customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions about products.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
  • Work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments.
  • Manage conflict reasonably, non-confrontationally, and cooperatively.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Qualifications

    Minimum Position Qualifications:

    • Customer Service skills
    • Effective communication skills
    • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction)
