Facilities Generalist I
Douglas County Libraries (DCL) is seeking a Facilities Generalist I to support the maintenance and improvement of facilities, buildings, and grounds orting to the Facilities Supervisor, this role contributes to daily branch operations and ensures a premium experience for customers and staff through consistent, high-quality facility care.
Job TypeFull-time, with ability to travel to all 7 branch locations.

Salary$20.34 to $25.38 hourly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Commercial Building Maintenance & Upkeep (40%) – Perform a wide range of facility maintenance tasks such as painting, minor plumbing and electrical repairs, light replacement, carpet tile installation, and furniture repair or assembly. Diagnose and resolve maintenance issues efficiently, maintain clean work spaces, operate manual and power tools safely following lock‑out/tag‑out procedures and PPE guidelines. Support automated materials handling equipment maintenance and respond to on‑call, after‑hours needs.
Collaborate across locations to provide excellent internal customer service. - Manual Labor (40%) – Perform physically demanding tasks indoors and outdoors including landscape and sprinkler repair, snow removal, moving furniture, hauling seasonal materials. Construct and assemble shelving, fixtures, and furniture. Work in all weather conditions and support large‑scale facility improvement projects requiring strength and endurance.
- Professional Standards & Safety (15%) – Follow industry safety protocols, maintain positive team‑oriented relationships across departments, represent DCL professionally, demonstrate flexibility in cross‑trained duties.
- Other Duties (5%) – Develop proficiency in relevant industry and organizational technology, engage in DCL’s performance feedback process and meet departmental expectations, policies and procedures.
- Associate’s degree.
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License with a good driving record.
- Basic skills in Microsoft 365 or other productivity, collaboration, and cloud‑based services software.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Commercial construction experience.
- A combination of experience and education will be considered.
Must have reliable transportation between all DCL locations. Vision 20/40 or better in either eye. Physical ability to push/pull loads up to 50 pounds, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, work in confined spaces and at heights up to 30 feet, use manual and power tools safely.
