- Uses non‑invasive procedures to examine heart valves, chambers, and blood vessels to produce echocardiograms (ECGs).
- Prepares facilities in accordance with procedural requirements and calibrates equipment as required by the institution.
- Provides images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation.
- Uses good judgment to determine if the procedure was sufficient for proper diagnoses or if additional imaging procedures are needed.
- Prepares patients for echocardiography procedures, positions patients appropriately for prescribed procedures, and assists patients at the completion of procedures.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
- Associate (Required)
- Basic Life Support – CPR Cert (BLS)
- RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) – EV Accredited Issuing Body
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) – EV Accredited Issuing Body
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) – EV Accredited Issuing Body
