Part‑Time Art Teacher (Ceramics Focus)
We are seeking a creative, patient, and energetic Part‑Time Art Teacher with ceramics experience to teach in our Art Studio program. This role focuses on hands‑on instruction that empowers adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to create art products for sale to the public.
The ideal candidate enjoys teaching in a collaborative, fast‑paced, and creative environment and is motivated by meaningful, mission‑driven work.

This role directly supports that mission through creative instruction and relationship‑centered teaching.
Key Responsibilities- Teach art classes (art, ceramics, candle making, paper crafts and upcycling projects).
- Use graphic design skills to create product concepts, templates, and visual layouts participants can execute.
- Adapt lessons to support a wide range of abilities and learning styles.
- Create a structured, positive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Support participant independence while ensuring health and safety.
- Collaborate with program staff and volunteers during class time.
- Prepare classroom spaces before class and ensure cleanup afterward.
- Document participant engagement and progress.
- Administer medications and assist with ADLs as needed.
- Transport participants to community activities when required.
- Experience teaching art and/or ceramics.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or a Human Services Field preferred.
- Minimum one year experience working with individuals that have intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Patience, flexibility, and strong communication skills.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviors using positive supports.
- Comfort working in a dynamic, hands‑on environment.

- Valid Colorado Driver’s license and possess the willingness and skills necessary to drive 15 passenger vehicles to transport participants to various outings and activities.
- Experience providing support with physical, emotional, cognitive, and mental health challenges.
- Excellent communication and relational skills to manage the multiple relationships within the program environment.
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to multi-task, problem solve effectively and manage the demands of a fast‑paced, constantly changing environment.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification to ensure health and safety of clients.
- Employment contingent on passing background check, drug screen and obtaining DOT certification.
- Qualified Medication Administration Personnel through CDPHE required; if not currently QMAP certified, we will pay for the costs of obtaining certification.
