Financial Controller

Sunset Stone, LLC. is a leading manufacturer of concrete products based in Castle Rock, CO. As a leader in the industry, Sunset Stone specializes in providing high-quality, lightweight stone veneers for residential and commercial projects throughout the United States.

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team. This is a full-time position based onsite in our office in Castle Rock, Colorado and will report to the CEO. The Financial Controller will supervise, track and evaluate day-to-day activities. You will work closely with a team of accountants to manage financial functions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger transactions, and account reconciliations.

Our ideal candidate uses strong analytical skills and Standard cost Accounting to create detailed financial reports as well as the month end Financials (Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows, and Income Statement). To succeed in this role, you should also have a problem-solving attitude and be able to manage a team.

• Standard Cost Accounting Procedures
• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
• Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports and statements.
• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
• Establish and adhere to month end close processes and timelines.
• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including:

Accounts Payable/Receivable

General Ledger Transactions

Revenue and Expenditure Variance Analysis

Balance Sheet Reconciliations

• 3-5 years experience in Standard Cost Accounting Required
• 1-2 years as a Controller/Assistant Controller or equivalent (3-5 years working experience as a Finance/Accounting Manager or experience as a strong Senior Accountant with an emphasis on reporting)
• Knowledge of MS Office, accounting software and databases
• Advanced MS Excel skills required
• Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
• Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Manufacturing experience required
• Sitting for extended periods of time
• All day use of computer
• The salary range for this position is $125K - $135K, depending on experience and qualifications.
