Warehouse Team Lead

Castle Donington | 40 Hours per Week | Monday-Friday | £30,035

At Bensons for Beds, we believe great sleep starts with great teamwork. As a Warehouse Team Leader, you’ll help drive a positive, productive environment where every delivery counts.

You’ll lead and motivate a team of warehouse operatives, overseeing the smooth flow of goods in and out of the warehouse using WMS systems. You’ll also contribute to optimising our home delivery operation to help us maintain a world‑class customer service standard.

Please note:

This is a physically demanding role involving the loading of heavy items such as mattresses, bed frames, and bedroom furniture.

• Oversee warehouse operations and plan and coordinate resources effectively
• Communicate issues, performance metrics, and operational updates
• Ensure all operational processes are adhered to, driving a continuous improvement culture
• Take full responsibility for the engagement and wellbeing of all colleagues within the shift
• Recruit, coach, mentor, and support training plans to build team talent and succession plans
• Monitor shift performance and report weekly on successes and areas for improvement
• Manage stock movement using WMS, including receiving, dispatching, returns, and stock counting
• Plan and manage team rotas alongside the Supervisor
• Uphold high standards of health and safety through daily checks
• Act as deputy for the Supervisor when required
• Promote a clean, organised, and pride-driven warehouse environment

• 2+ years’ experience in an operational, warehouse, or logistics role
• Strong leadership with a proven ability to lead, engage and develop teams
• Demonstrated success in improving team performance and efficiency
• Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving and computer skills
• Able to solve problems and tackle challenges with speed and precision

• Experience in a fast‑paced warehouse and transport home delivery environment, involving large goods
• IOSH qualified
• Proficiency in transport, warehouse and stock control management systems and tools
